For anyone who loves good wine, enjoys discovering new wineries, or is simply looking for a special Saturday night outing in Budapest. Non-professional event: We welcome wine enthusiasts, curious beginners, groups of friends, and couples alike.

A walking wine tasting is a casual wine event, where, with their admission ticket, guests can visit the booths of all the participating wineries and freely choose from the wines available for tasting. At the event There is no set tasting order. Guests can stroll through the wineries’ booths at their own pace, chat with the exhibitors, and choose which wines they’d like to taste.

The admission ticket includes the admission to the event and the opportunity to sample the products at all participating wineries. Tasting glasses can be purchased with a separate glass token. Food and other refreshments are not included in the admission ticket.

No, the The price of the admission ticket does not include the tasting glass. At the entrance, you can rent a glass for 2,000 Ft; in the spirit of environmental responsibility, we’re providing glasses from previous Vingardium events. You can return the rented glass at the end of the event and get your 2,000 Ft deposit back.

If you'd rather take this year's Vingardium glass home as a souvenir, you can purchase it separately at the ticket counter. Purchased glasses are non-refundable.

The selection includes white wines, rosés, red wines, and sparkling wines, ranging from light, fruity varieties to more full-bodied, aged wines.

The current lineup of exhibitors includes, among others, N3 Borműhely, 21 Hordó, Harsányi Winery, Grape Wine, Mezei Winery, Thummerer Winery, Matias Winery, Galambos Winery, Teleki, Schieber Winery, Espák Winery, Vinatus Winery, SanzonTokaj, Dominium Winery, Négy80, Kancellár Estate, Bajor Winery, Hilltop, and Sárosdi Winery.

The exact selection of wines varies by winery, so it’s worth exploring as many booths as possible.

Based on the current list of exhibitors, wines from the Tokaj, Villány, Szekszárd, Eger, Bükk, Mátra, Badacsony, Somló, Pécs, Neszmély, and Kunság wine regions, among others, will be featured. The goal is to give visitors the chance to sample wines from as many of Hungary’s wine regions as possible in a single evening.

Yes, that’s one of the best parts of this walking wine tasting. The wineries showcase their wines at their own booths, so you can ask questions directly about the wines, the grape varieties, and the winery. In many cases, the winemaker is there at the booth.

Bálna Budapest is located on the banks of the Danube, next to Fővám Square. It’s a few minutes’ walk from the Fővám Square stop on the M4 metro line, and the Zsil Street stop on tram line 2 is also nearby. It’s also easily accessible from Boráros Square. There is an underground parking garage at Bálna, but we naturally recommend using public transportation when wine-tasting events are held.

"Vingardium in the City" is a wine-tasting event, so it is primarily intended for guests 18 years of age or older. Only visitors who are at least 18 years old may taste alcohol, and we may ask for proof of age if necessary.
